About us

As a longtime Burien local, I'm proud to continue the legacy of The Tin Room, an iconic restaurant and bar in Olde Burien. Originally opened in 2004 by Danny House, The Tin Room quickly became a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike—known for its welcoming atmosphere, great food, and strong community ties. Before that, the building housed The Hi-Line Tin Shop, run by Ernie Elder for more than 70 years, a beloved piece of Burien's small-town history.

When I took ownership in mid 2025, my vision was to honor the past while bringing new life to this neighborhood gem. With Chef Nathan Gerard leading the kitchen, we serve seasonal, scratch-made dishes featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, alongside craft cocktails and warm, attentive service.

Our space has been refreshed to feel stylish, comfortable, and inviting, blending classic charm with a modern touch. The Tin Room also remains home to its intimate 39-seat movie theater, where we host films and private events—a unique feature that makes us one of the most distinctive restaurants in Burien.

For me, The Tin Room represents everything I love about this community: exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and a place where everyone feels welcome—right here in the heart of Olde Burien.
